Quality of potentiometer knobs

For the ESP 32 frontpanel i ordered some potentiometer from china. After they arrived, i am very disappointed with the quality. In the following Post i wanna show you the disadvantages of some to cheap potentiometer knob, so that you don`t order the wrong potentiometer knobs.

The first order of potentiometer knobs:

In the following picture you can see my first order of 19×19 mm potentiometer knobs.

In one of the two potentiometer knob the infill loose the contact with the potentiometer shell. Inside the shell you can see a little bit rust on the shell wall. The shell consists of aluminum and the infill is plastic.

I mounted the not damaged one on a potentiometer. The concentricity of the knob is very bad. I think the plastic infill is not mounted in the middle of the potentiometer knob or it is tilted.

I am not happy with these potentiometer knobs.

After this i orded new potentiometer knobs from china, but i asked the seller if the potentiometer is fully cnc drilled.

The second order of potentiometer knobs:

In the following picture you can see my second order of 20×20 mm potentiometer knobs.

They looks very nice with no faults in the finish. They are fully cnc drilled and have a grub screw. They fitt perfect on an alps potentiometer and have a good concentricity.

Result:

The potentiometer knobs of the second order costs ~3$ each and the one from the first order costs ~0.9$ each. I would not recommended to buy the potentiometer knobs from the first order. The potentiometer knobs of the second order are a way better and still worth the price.
